“Saturday Night Live” kicked off its forty eighth season on Saturday evening with host Miles Teller as former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning and Andrew Dismukes as his brother, Eli.
In the caricature, the 2 had been doing an research of the season premiere of the NBC selection display.
“Ok, we got an establishing shot of Mar-a-Lago,” Dismukes’ Eli stated.
“Oh good! Trump sketch,” Teller’s Peyton stated. “Way to mix it up.”
This ended in the 2 gazing a Trump caricature starring James Austin Johnson as the previous president.
Peyton (Teller) and Eli (Dismukes) weren’t proud of the caricature.
“Okay, time out,” Dismukes’ Eli stated, pausing the caricature. “What the hell was that?”
Teller’s Peyton requested why there have been no amusing impersonations of Anthony Fauci or Rudy Giuliani.
“Those were all Kate McKinnon,” Dismukes’ Eli knowledgeable Teller’s Peyton. McKinnon left the display ultimate season.
Bowen Yang then entered the caricature and flubbed a line, which the 2 former pretend quarterbacks referred to as out.
“He was supposed to take a step up this year,” Dismukes’ Eli stated. “But you can tell the pressure is getting to him.”
Teller’s Peyton stated that the display is in a “rebuilding year for sure.”
The two then went over the display’s stats to this point, which have been “14 attempted jokes, 1 mild laugh and 3 chuckles.”
“Thank God they have Kendrick Lamar because that’s the only reason anyone is tuning in,” Teller’s Peyton stated – the comic story being that Teller could also be the host.
The two then introduced out former host Jon Hamm as a visitor and requested him what he’s noticed to this point this night.
“I don’t know, but it’s not comedy,” Hamm stated.
Hamm, Teller’s co-star in “Top Gun: Maverick,” then remarked that the display can’t even get well-known hosts anymore.
“Well, I heard they rarely put the host in the cold open, so when they do… it’s special,” Teller’s Peyton stated.
The entire forged then stated the display’s signature catch word, “Live… from New York. It’s Saturday Night!”
