Plane Catches Fire: A Tibet Airlines plane caught fire on Tuesday morning at Chongqing Airport in China. Government media reported that some passengers were also injured in the incident. Government broadcaster CCTV said the Chongqing to Lhasa flight caught fire at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport.

People’s Daily quoted the airlines as saying that all 113 passengers and 9 crew members have been evacuated safely. Those with minor injuries have been taken to the hospital. In the video shared on social media, it can be clearly seen that after the fire in the aircraft standing on the runway, smoke is rising rapidly in the sky. Water is being poured on the plane by the relief team and efforts are being made to extinguish the fire.

The airlines said that when the plane was going from the southwest city of Chongqing to Nyangchi in Tibet, the crew got suspicious and they took down the plane. After this, flames appeared in the plane on the runway. Tibet Airlines issued a statement saying – All passengers and crew members were evacuated safely. The injured passengers sustained minor injuries and have been sent to the hospital for treatment. The incident comes at a time when a China Eastern flight going from Kunming to Guangzhou crashed into a mountainous area at an altitude of about 29 thousand feet in the month of March, killing 132 people on board.

It was considered the biggest accident in the 30-year history of China. No specific reason was given for it. After getting two black boxes from that plane, it is being analyzed in America so that the mystery of that accident in China Eastern flight can be revealed.
