‘Pakistani management didn’t do well to me’

Shoaib Akhtar, popularly known as Rawalpindi Express, was not a part of this semi-final match. Now Shoaib Akhtar said that this defeat in the semi-final against India stings him now. He said that I was completely fit for this match, but before the match I was declared unfit. The Pakistani management did not do well with me. Rawalpindi Express said that wanted to play in the final match of that World Cup. I knew the Indian team was under a lot of pressure. The media including the fans was expecting victory from the Indian team. In such a situation, this pressure could be taken advantage of.

‘It felt bad to see my team lose’

Shoaib Akhtar said that the first 10 overs were very important. Had I been part of the team in that match, I could have dismissed Sachin and Sehwag early. After the early dismissal of both the openers, the Indian team would have come under pressure. He further said that I was very disappointed for not being a part of this semi-final match. It was very bad to see my team losing on the ground. Significantly, in this match Sachin Tendulkar scored 85 runs. Thanks to Sachin’s innings, the Indian team had set a target of 261 runs for victory in front of Pakistan, but the Pakistani team was reduced to just 231 runs.
