New Features On Google Map: Can we know the quality of the air we breathe? Now Google is going to answer this question. This feature can be available in Google Maps soon. Google is preparing to bring this new feature in its map. Now we can check the Air Quality Index while planning a picnic outside somewhere. This new feature in Google Maps will guide for outdoor activities how pure the air is where you are breathing. Let us tell you that this feature is available for both Android and iOS users, but for now this feature will be available only in the US.
The range of Air Quality Index will be up to 400+:
Google first announced the addition of an air quality feature to Maps in 2021. However, integration was delayed due to some factors. The new feature will show users the air quality index of a particular area, from zero to 400+.
How to use Air Quality feature:
To find the air quality rating on the map, tap on the Rental ‘Layer’ button on the right side below the carousel. In the ‘Map detail’ window that appears, select the green air quality icon in the lower right side. You will be zoomed out as soon as you enter the air quality layer.
Google will get data from government agencies:
The data to create the air quality layer comes from government agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the low-cost, hyper-local air quality data provider, PurpleAir. Google has partnered with the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) to provide details on wildfires in the US. The company will soon add smoke data across the country from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
