Jammu Kashmir Encounter: D.H. of Kulgam in Jammu and Kashmir. Encounter of security forces with terrorists is going on in Pora area. Jammu and Kashmir Police said that the police and the army are jointly engaged in the operation. Earlier, the Kupwara police launched a joint anti-terrorist operation with the army in the Lolab area. According to officials, on the basis of information received from the arrested terrorist Shaukat Ahmed Sheikh, the operation was launched by the security forces in the Lolab area of Kupwara, after which the encounter broke out.
The Kashmir Police tweeted that during the search of various places, the terrorists hiding there opened fire on the security personnel, to which the security forces retaliated and in this encounter two terrorists were killed. Police said that the arrested terrorist was also trapped. Officials said that the encounter is still going on in the area.
Terrorist identified as Pakistani national
According to Inspector General of Police (Kashmir) Vijay Kumar, one of the slain terrorists has been identified as a Pakistani national, who was associated with the banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. He said that along with the arrested terrorist, two-three more terrorists are trapped in this ongoing encounter. Fighting is going on now.
Continuous encounters in the valley
Three days ago, the security forces had killed three terrorists in two separate encounters. Security forces had killed two terrorists in an encounter in Hangalgund area of Anantnag district. IGP Vijay Kumar had said that the slain terrorists were identified as Junaid and Basit Bhat of Hizbul Mujahideen. Terrorist Basit was involved in the killing of BJP sarpanch Rasool Dar, his wife and a panch in Anantnag last year. Just before this, two terrorists were killed by the security forces in Mishipura area of Kulgam. Security forces launched an anti-militancy operation on Tuesday after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in the Mishipora area of Kulgam.
Hundreds of terrorists have been killed so far
On Wednesday, two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces at Kanjiular in Shopian district, out of which the bank manager was involved in the murder. Let us tell you that the security forces have conducted Operation Allout against the terrorists in the valley, under which hundreds of terrorists have been neutralized so far.
