one-season wonder: Venkatesh Iyer’s performance has not been special for KKR in IPL 15 (IPL 2022). Because of which he has also been dropped from the team. Although there have been many players even before this, who have proved to be a one-season wonder. So let’s know about those players, who could not maintain their performance after one season and got dropped from the team.
In IPL 2011, Paul Valthaty was being called the discoverer of that season. He scored 463 runs in that season at an impressive strike rate of 136.98. Apart from this, his unbeaten 120 runs in 63 balls against CSK. However, after this season he did not maintain his performance and today he is not a part of any team in IPL.
KKR fans can never forget the name of Manvinder Bisla. In the final match of the 2012 season, he scored 89 runs in 48 balls against Chennai. After this innings, people were calling him the star of the future. Although he too could not maintain his performance and today he is not a part of any team in IPL.
Leg spinner Rahul Sharma had a great performance for Pune Warriors India in 2011. Due to his performance, he also got a chance to debut for the team. Although he did not maintain his performance and he got away from both IPL and International cricket.
Jharkhand’s Saurabh Tiwari was being compared to Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He also came from Jharkhand like Dhoni and used to hit big sixes. In his own season, he performed brilliantly for Mumbai. However, after that he too lost his form. He was not bought by any team in the IPL 2022 auction.
Swapnil Asnodkar had a great performance in the first season of IPL. He scored more than 300 runs in that season and helped the team to win. However, after that his form declined and he was out of the IPL.
