Mohammed Shami on Umran Malik: Sunrisers Hyderabad’s young fast bowler Umran Malik has made everyone crazy with his speed. He took 15 wickets in the first eight matches. Including five wickets against Gujarat Titans. However, with no wickets in the last three matches, critics have questioned Umran whether the young pacer from Jammu should be included in the Indian team. On which Gujarat fast bowler Mohammed Shami has said that he will take some more time to mature.

‘They will take more time’

Shami said, I agree that he has the pace, but personally, I am not a big fan of him. I believe if you can bowl at 140kmph and swing the ball both ways, it is enough to trouble the batsmen. He has incredible speed but he still needs some more time to mature.

‘Mohsin Khan impressed’

Besides Malik, Lucknow Super Giants pacer Mohsin Khan has grabbed the attention of cricket fans with his ability to swing the new ball and be economical while taking ten wickets in six matches.

He said, Mohsin Khan used to practice with me. He is a young and strong bowler but he has to focus on bowling well like you have to in a gameplan and get better physically and mentally.

‘Yash Dayal is also a good bowler’

Shami said about Dayal, in Gujarat, fast bowler Yash Dayal has performed impressively with nine wickets in five matches. Yash Dayal is very small and is adept at swinging the ball both ways. I haven’t got much time to work with him, but whatever I have seen him, he is good at swinging the ball both ways.

The emergence of young Indian fast bowlers in IPL 2022 has brought the fast bowling talent in the country into the limelight. This has impressed Shami. But at the same time, the senior fast bowler has asked the young fast bowlers to play more and more matches to gain experience to excel in future.
