Dhawal Kulkarni comeback: RCB wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik performed brilliantly in IPL 2022. Due to this performance, he managed to make a place in the India-South Africa T20 series. Karthik returned to international cricket after 3 years. Earlier, he had also tried his hand in commentary. In such a situation, Mumbai’s experienced fast bowler Dhawal Kulkarni has expressed hope that he too can return to the Indian team.

The experience was fun in the commentary
In a conversation with Sportstar, Dhawal Kulkarni said, ‘This was the first year that I was not selected by any team in the IPL. It was a bit of a shock for me. I tried my hand at commentary to keep myself mentally fit. My experience in commentary was quite fun. Mumbai grounds were surrounded due to IPL, so I was not getting training time. I had nothing but to sit at home. So I thought of doing something new. Whenever I got a break from IPL, I would train with the boys of Mumbai.

i am thankful to mumbai
In the middle of the IPL, Mumbai Indians included Dhawal Kunkarni in the team as a replacement. Kulkarni said, ‘I joined Bubble because I took a break from commentary. Mumbai Indians management gave me an opportunity to practice with the group, for which I am thankful to them. Dhawal said, ‘When I was young, I had Ajit Agarkar and Zaheer Khan to help me. This made me a better bowler. I am telling the youth what I have learned.

i can return
Kulkarni, who played 14 matches (12 ODIs, 2 T20 Internationals) for India, hoped that his efforts would not go in vain. He is confident that like Dinesh Karthik, he too can make a comeback in international cricket. Dhawal said, ‘Domestic cricket has always been on top for me. Mumbai cricket is the main reason for where I am. I still feel that I can return for India. I will continue to do well for Mumbai and help Mumbai win the Ranji Trophy. I can also benefit from this.
