Gujarat Titans vs Punjab Kings Match: Shikhar Dhawan (62 not out) followed a brilliant performance by the bowlers led by Kagiso Rabada (4 for 33 in four overs) as Punjab Kings thrashed Gujarat Titans by eight wickets in an Indian Premier League match on Tuesday. Chasing the target, Dhawan hit two consecutive fours against Pradeep Sangwan in the second over but Mohammed Shami (1 for 43) gave Punjab the first blow by dismissing Jonny Bairstow (1 run) in the third over.

Rajapaksa hit two fours in the same over, while in the fourth over against Alzarri Joseph, he hit a brilliant six and then a four over the wicketkeeper. Dhawan completed 47th half-century of IPL career by hitting a four against Lockie Ferguson in the 12th over. Rajapaksa hit a six in the same over but got leg-behind the next ball. Liam Livingstone scored 28 runs against Shami in the 16th over by hitting three consecutive sixes and two fours and gave the team victory.

Gujarat won the toss and elected to bat but the team lost the wickets of both the openers in the first four overs. In the second over, Shubman Gill (nine runs in six balls), who hit two fours against Rabada, was run out. Saha then hit a brilliant six against Rabada in the fourth over but the experienced bowler walked him off the very next ball. After this, the Punjab bowlers tightened the screws on Gujarat and in an attempt to accelerate the run-rate, David Miller (11 runs in 14 balls) was caught by Rabada near the boundary line off Livingstone in the 12th over. In the same over, Sudarshan ended the boundary drought by hitting a four. For Gujarat, this four came after 48 balls.
