Italian Foreign Minister Meets S Jaishankar: Italian Foreign Minister Luigi De Mayo, who is on a visit to India, met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Friday. Bilateral relations including trade, investment, defense and security, green energy were discussed between the two leaders. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that it is a pleasure to welcome Italian Foreign Minister Luigi De Mayo on his maiden visit to India. The Foreign Minister of Italy is in India on a three-day visit. At the beginning of the yatra, he met the Chief Minister of Karnataka in Bengaluru on Thursday.

Discussion on important issues between S Jaishankar and Italian Foreign Minister

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar tweeted with the photo, “Had a cordial and positive meeting with Italian Foreign Minister Luigi De Mayo. Discussed our growing cooperation in space sectors including cyber security, science and technology. The growing interest of Italian companies in ‘Make in India’, transfer of technology will further enhance our bilateral relations’. It is worth noting that Luigi De Mayo has come on a visit to India from May 4 to 6. High level officials and business delegation have also accompanied him.

Italian Foreign Minister met Karnataka CM on Thursday

Italy’s Foreign Minister Mayo Nam met Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai in Bengaluru on Thursday at the start of his visit. Earlier, in its statement, the Ministry of External Affairs had said that the visit of the Italian Foreign Minister to India would provide an opportunity to both sides to discuss the full spectrum of their bilateral relations and to further enhance their close ties in priority areas. Talks between the two sides will especially include areas such as investment connectivity, defense and security, clean and green energy, science and technology cooperation. It said that Jaishankar and De Mayo will review the progress of implementing the ‘Action Plan 2020-24’ presented digitally in November 2020 and discuss regional and multi-level topics of common interest.
