Edible Oil Price Down: There has been a decline in the Delhi oilseeds market on Saturday. Almost all oilseeds including mustard, soybean, palmolein have declined. According to sources, there is a significant decline in the demand for edible oil. Along with this, there has been a slowdown of about 20 percent in the edible oil imported from abroad.

Decreasing arrival of mustard
Sources said that the arrival of mustard in the mandis has come down to 2.25-2.50 lakh bags. Mustard oil oilseeds declined due to weak demand, while groundnut oil oilseeds prices remained weak due to fall in foreign oils. The business in cottonseed oil has remained very less. CPO and Palmolein also declined due to the general trend of decline and weak demand.

Oil MRP cut
Sources said that recently some big brand companies have announced a cut in the maximum retail price (MRP) of their edible oils, but the whole situation can be understood with an example. For example, a leading brand has reduced the price (MRP) of sunflower oil to Rs 190, while another company with a good sales record has reduced the price of sunflower oil by Rs 210 a liter and another leading brand of the country has reduced the price of the same oil. It has been reduced to Rs 220 per liter. There is a difference of about 40 rupees in the price of three companies in the same price of one sunflower oil.

Sources said that the government is conducting raids on those who supply oil cheaply to consumers and pay all the duties on time, but nothing is happening against those selling khadtel at arbitrary rates under the guise of MRP. The permanent solution to the needs of edible oil can be to increase oil-oilseeds production in the country.
