David Warner: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) won the IPL 2016 title. Then David Warner was a part of SRH and he played a special role in winning the IPL trophy. Warner continued to play for SRH till 2021, although in the last season, Warner was shown the way out of SRH’s captaincy and playing XI. Despite his strong record in the IPL, SRH did not even retain him this time. After all this, the news of the altercation between Warner and SRH became common. On social media too, Warner was seen venting his anger on the SRH team management. In such a situation, when his new team (Delhi Capitals) was facing his old team (SRH), then most of the eyes were fixed on Warner. This match was being seen as ‘Warner’s replacement’ and something similar happened in the match.
Warner played an unbeaten 92 off 58 balls in this match. Due to his quick innings, Delhi scored a huge score of 207 runs, in response SRH’s team was reduced to 186. Delhi won by 21 runs and Warner was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’. After the presentation ceremony was over, Delhi Capitals assistant coach Shane Watson addressed David Warner as ‘former captain of SRH’. Warner also gave a funny answer to this.
After the match, Watson was seen talking to his team players Rovman Powell and Warner. During this, he said, ‘I will first go to the former captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, who was very excited in today’s match.’ On this, Warner said, ‘Yeah look, I did not need any encouragement other than this in today’s match.’ As soon as Warner said this, the three players laughed a lot.
Watson did not stop here. Taking the matter further, he asked Warner, ‘Do you think that the fire that was inside you today will remain the same in the next few matches?’ To this, Warner said, ‘There is always a fire inside me, you know this Shane’
