ICC: The ICC has taken a big action on the Sri Lankan team for the second T20 match against Australia. Actually, the ICC has taken this action due to the slow over rate. The Sri Lankan team has been fined 40 per cent of the match fee for slow over rate during the second T20 match against Australia. In this second T20 match between Australia and Sri Lanka, the host team had to face defeat. In this way, the Kangaroo team has gone 2-0 up in the series.

Host team fined due to slow over rate

Actually, during the second T20 match between Australia and Sri Lanka, the rules of players outside the circle were implemented after a slow over rate. Under which one of the five players standing outside the circle was called inside. It is worth noting that there is a provision in the new rules that in the remaining overs, only four fielders can be kept out of the circle if the over is not completed in time.

Captain Dasun Shanaka admitted the mistake

Ranjan Madugalle, present in the elite panel of ICC match referees, imposed this fine on the host team. In fact, the Sri Lankan team led by Dasun Shanaka was two overs behind in this match. After which the ICC issued a statement. In this statement, it was said that according to Article 2.22 made for players and their respective support staff, 20 percent of match fee is fined for every over for error in over rate. At the same time, Captain Shanaka has accepted the mistake.
