One Charger For All Devices: Apple has got a big blow from the European Union. European Union countries and law makers have agreed that mobiles, tablets and cameras should have the same mobile charging port. Now the charging port will be decided by the official order. For information, let us tell you that this is happening for the first time in the world.

applicable from 2024

After this decision of the European Union, Apple will have to change the connector of any iPhone it will sell in Europe from 2024. The EU has taken this decision on the grounds that it will save customers money and then charge the iPhone with a Lightning cable, using USB-C or B type connectors to charge Android devices . In 2019, a study conducted by the European Union revealed that in 2018 half of chargers sold with mobile phones had USB Micro-B connectors, 29% USB-C connectors and 21% Lightning connectors.

Different chargers for different devices

The country of Belgium has been advocating for a common mobile charging port for all companies for almost a decade. Explaining their problems, iPhone and Android users complained that they have to use different chargers for their different devices, which causes a lot of problems for them.

“The deal will save customers about 250 million euros,” said the European Union’s industry chief, Thierry Breton. “It will also allow new technologies like wireless charging to emerge and they will not have to worry that innovation will not allow market division in the days to come,” he said.
