FMCG firm Adani Wilmar on Saturday reduced the prices of its edible oils by Rs 10 per liter following the government’s decision to reduce import duty on the commodity.
10 rupees cheaper oil
Adani Wilmar has reduced the maximum retail price (MRP) of one liter pack of Fortune Refined Sunflower Oil from Rs 220 to Rs 210, the company said in a statement.
Mustard oil price Rs 195
Similarly, the MRP of one liter pack of Fortune Soyabean and Fortune Kachchi Ghani (mustard oil) has been reduced from Rs 205 to Rs 195.
Low cost packets will come in the market soon
Along with this, the company said that packets with new prices will soon reach the market, after which customers will be able to get cheap edible oil.
Why did oil become cheaper?
The company said that this reduction in oil prices is due to the reduction of import duty on edible oils by the central government. Angshu Malik, Managing Director and CEO, Adani Wilmar said, “We are passing on the benefit of low cost to our customers… We are confident that lower prices will also boost demand.”
