AC Demand IncreasesThis year the summer season has knocked ahead of time. There is severe heat in many states of the country. But due to the heat, the companies making air conditioners have come out. Due to the record heat this year, around 90 lakh ACs are estimated to be sold. According to the Consumer Electronics Manufacturers Association, a total of 17.5 lakh AC units have been sold in the month of April, which is a record. But in the coming days, you may have to pay more money to buy AC. AC makers can increase the price of AC by 2 to 4 percent.

AC prices may increase
Eric Braganza, president of CEAMA (Consumer Electronics and Appliances Manufacturers Association), said the consumer durables industry has increased prices by 15 per cent in the last 18-20 months. Many manufacturers have increased prices due to increase in raw material, crude oil and global freight rates, there may be a further increase of 2-4 percent in the coming months.

Shortage of 5 star AC due to lack of controller-compressor
He said that in the coming time, there may be a shortage of ACs of 5-star range. Availability of certain products like controllers and compressors may be a problem in the next few months due to which AC manufacturers will not be in a position to meet the demand. There are issues of supply of controllers and compressor especially from China, while the demand for 5 star ACs is very high. However, AC manufacturers expect the demand for air conditioners to remain good in May and June as well.
